15 Creatives and Artists from around Iloilo City and Province were invited to commune in Cataan Cove and share silences, ideas, opinions, poetry, music, and laughter. They then formed small groups, identified local environmental problems, and came up with proposed creative projects that can confront and combat these issues.
We also had various talks by Robert Axelsson (WVILC) on Sustainable Development and Climate Change, Joby Arandela (ZIDOFA) on Eco-Agriculture: Problems in Agriculture and the Solution, Arjun Marapon (art therapist/artist) on How the Mind Works: how we can maximize its power to make our aspirations happen, and us Alima Community core group on Co-creating Change in the Margins.
Here are the objectives of the two-day camp:
- Personal development to improve life, people’s situations, society, the environment.
- Equalization of differences in education and to increase general knowledge.
- Learning through talks and activities to encourage people’s participation in sustainable development.
- Using art to increase all of the above-mentioned and increase interest in art for change, art for the community.
